Start of the demolition

We started demolishing the building of the Day care center on the 24th of May 2009! In a week time, the teachers helped to put all the materials to another little building below the school, where they will give classes to the students.

This community building has only 2 little rooms, which is too less for 56 kids, so that’s why QOLN ordered to make a shelter (with the old stones and the tin roof from the old building) to teach.

They also made a store room for all the furniture of the school, placed on the playground. The monsoon will start soon, and we don’t want the furniture to get wet.

The children are very happy in their new little school (because it is different and exciting – at the moment!). The teachers are a bit sad their school is being demolished, but they are looking forward to the new one!

We will inform you when they start to put the first stone.

We were lucky one of our volunteers did paragliding on the 28th of May and she could take this photo to show our old DCC building, the new shelter for furniture on the right and below under the tree, the community house as the replacing school with the little shed at the right. The playground for the kids is a lot smaller, but they will be able to manage for some months.

Thank you for your support!
