Namasté sponsors,
Meanwhile our day care center is running very well!
Thank you for all your support. Again, 55 children can attend our kinder garden in a new building! They are very happy and delighted to be in their new school.
The 3 classrooms downstairs are for the Nursery, Lower KG and Upper KG. The classes are still a bit empty, but slowly they will be housing new furniture and play toys.
Namasté!
We wish you a HAPPY NEPALI NEW YEAR 2067! The New Year started on April 14. Nepal is the only country in the world with soo many New Year celebrations! In 365 days, there are nine different New Years in Nepal!

This year we even enjoyed real fireworks around Lakeside!
Since last month, there has been a lot of work done in our DCC. The railings have been fixed, the channel gate has been fixed, and the painting is going on continually.
These days, we can see the DCC construction is in its finishing process. The workers are busy to finish last painting. The workers are waiting for the electricity to fix the windows and doors. Moreover, some workers are busy to make a surrounding wall for the DCC.
QOLN is eagerly waiting to do the opening ceremony on 14 April 2010!
Dear sponsors,
After heavy snowfall in the mountains and a whole day of rain in Pokhara, the weather is not cold anymore and it is getting hotter and hotter every day. People are already dressed in light clothes when they go out!
The new Day care centre (DCC) is almost ready. Since the last four weeks, the workers worked very hard to finish it. They plastered the floor and cemented the last rooftop. Now they are busy fixing the doors, windows and the railings all around the first and second floor. Meanwhile they will start painting and cleaning the playground.
Namasté!
First, we wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR! May Love & Joy enrich your days!

At this moment, Nepal is starting to celebrate its festivals again. The last month, called “POUSH” (from half December until half January) is determined as an unholy month. In this month the religious ceremonies are forbidden.
Dear sponsors,
The early started winter is getting colder and colder in Sarangkot, especially in the morning and in the evening!
Namasté dear sponsors of our Nepal Child Plan,
In the first week of November, QOLN organized a winter clothes and shoes distribution program for the Nepal Child Plan (NCP) sponsored kids and the Day Care Centre (DCC) kids.
Winter started early this year. From the 11th of November we suddenly had cloudy, rainy weather and the temperature dropped by 10 degrees.
At the moment we have 70 children sponsored in our Nepal Child Plan.
Dear sponsors,
Finally the festivals came to an end! What happened in the last 2 months?
The most important day was on the 5th of October when they put the “DALAN”. This is putting cement on the first floor, so the ground floor gets a ceiling.
A lot of workers came to do this job. Everything is supported with bamboo.
Namasté!
As Nepal is a country of many traditional festivals, we started celebrating most of them from the end of July.
I would like to enlighten just one of them: GAI JATRA, "The procession of Sacred Cows", which was celebrated on the 6th of August.
The "Gai" refers to "cow" and "Jatra" refers to "gathering in procession".
Dear sponsors, Namasté,
The month of August passed by quickly, but not the building. Still, the work is continuing. To build in Nepal is not that easy, because everything is done by hand. Also, this month was the start of all festivals, so a lot of workers didn’t show up. Of course, there are always reasons not to work here!
The monsoon really started in August. This means a lot of rain, and this is also very difficult to work in.
